The Marshall Islands Soccer Federation, the governing body of the last country in the world without a football team, have launched a second fundraiser which will allow us to play our first men’s 11-a-side fixtures.

Having set a target of raising £20,000 to host next month’s 2025 Outrigger Challenge Cup in Arkansas, we smashed this total in June, eventually raising over £21,500 through our Kickstarter campaign. With the tournament costing the federation in excess of £80,000 we now need your help to raise the funds we need for accommodation, stadium facilities, and catering.

Until we are granted the membership of a confederation, we will continue to receive no external funding – and hosting an international match is no small feat.
We must fund travel, accommodation, meals, transportation, playing kits, venue setup, and all the logistics needed to put on a world-class event. Any additional money we now raise will go directly towards these aspects of the 2025 Outrigger Challenge Cup.

We believe this tournament will not only put the Marshall Islands on the global football map – but demonstrate our ability to host international fixtures and show the world that we deserve to be accepted as an international football nation.

To this end, we have set up a second GoFundMe campaign as a means to raise additional funds towards the 2025 Outrigger Challenge Cup. The goal is to raise £2,800 – although this is a dynamic target implemented by GoFundMe. This means the fundraising target will scale up as we receive more donations.

The Marshall Islands Soccer Federation are still looking for parties interested in sponsoring the event. We have a range of opportunities from live streaming partners, shirt sponsorship, and player and match sponsors. All matches will be live-streamed, with more details to follow shortly. For those wishing to watch in-person, we will also be making arrangements and sharing details in the coming weeks.

● Wednesday, 13th August – US Virgin Islands v Turks & Caicos Islands – 7pm kick-off
● Thursday, 14th August – Turks & Caicos Islands v Ozark United under-19s – 5pm
● Thursday, 14th August – Marshall Islands v US Virgin Islands – 8pm
● Saturday, 16th August – Marshall Islands v Turks & Caicos Islands – 1pm
● Saturday, 16th August – US Virgin Islands v Ozark United under-19s – 4pm
