Coaching Placements

Coaching Placements

Want to enhance your international soccer coaching experience, gain a recognized qualification, and be part of a once-in-a-lifetime story? A coaching placement with the Marshall Islands Soccer Federation is for you.

Immerse yourself

In the Pacific Ocean, midway between Hawaii and Australia – the Marshall Islands are at the center of their own universe. If you’re looking for an adventure then why not choose one of the least visited countries in the world.

Help create a legacy

Soccer is still in its infancy here. We are on a mission to make soccer accessible to every child in our country. We are embarking on an ambitious project to grow through schools and communities. And we need your help!

Gain a qualification

In addition to the unique experience on offer we are able to certify you in a range of OFC courses, through our OFC-licensed tutor and Technical Director, Lloyd Owers.

Make a real impact

Soccer has the power to unite the world. But seeing the difference it can make to people’s lives is priceless. Our people are quick learners and the kids will impress you with their ability. But they need opportunities. By being part of our Placement Programme you will enable us to deliver an increased number of sessions across the island – allowing more young people to experience the beautiful game.

Work with us

The Marshall Islands are the last country on Earth to have not played an international fixture. Whilst we’re working hard to change this, we’re trying to build a sustainable soccer culture across the nation. From getting the sport added to the school curriculum for Physical Education, to hosting free sessions in every community on the largest island, we need your help to ensure momentum continues. Our ultimate goal is to be recognized by FIFA and to give every child the opportunity to play soccer.

What could a typical week look like as part of this placement?

Monday: Start the week by checking in with your Placement Leader. Discuss the successes and challenges of the week before heading out to Delap Elementary School to oversee our new after-school programme.

Tuesday: Meet with the local Public School System leader to plan our upcoming Festival of Soccer for schools. We’ll need you to co-ordinate the event.

Wednesday: Head down to Rairok where our latest community session is launching. Ensure the community lead has all the equipment needed and ensure all new players are made to feel welcome.

Thursday: Our Men’s National Futsal team are training hard as they prepare for the inter-island competition coming up soon. Pack your trainers as they may need an extra body for training, or help Head Coach Tony with the session.

Friday: This week there aren’t any school clubs, take a boat to a private island and take it some of the unique marine life – remember to pack your snorkel!

Saturday: Our most popular kid’s session needs an extra pair of hands! From midday you’ll be helping run practice until 2pm. Take some time to speak to family and friends back home before continue planning our annual tournament the Ratak Cup!

Sunday: A well earned day off. Sunday is church and family day. Head down to Laura for a BBQ by the beach and a cool drink as you watch the sun go down.
